Why choose Seat Time Racing School?

Our race cars are actual retired RACE CARS, Ford, Chevy and Dodge stock cars that have seen competition, they weigh approximately 3,400 lbs. and are fitted with a 358 cubic inch Chevy High Performance engine.  Seat Time Racing School does not use a pace car and passing is allowed in a safe manner. We offer programs for everyone!

How fast will I go?

We focus on driving technique, not speed.  Anyone can hammer a car down the straightaways, but it takes technique to master the high banked turns in order to save time and beat the competition.

How long will I be at the track?

All solo race driving packages require attendance at the 8am classroom. We strive to have all solo drivers finished by lunch. All non-solo drivers and those participating in the Hot Laps program will be given a checkin time for later in the morning or afternoon. You should be completed within an hour or two of this time. Please keep in mind that weather and other factors can affect our track operations and your overall time spent at the track.

What happens if it rains?

The track officials and Seat Time Racing School will make the decision based on the severity of the weather.  An event may be cancelled or postponed due to weather conditions that are out of our control(we do not run rain tires nor do we have windshield wipers).  Because some of our students join us from many parts of the country and some from outside of the United States, we make every effort to make an event happen.  Rain-out events must reschedule within one (1) year  from the rain-out date. 

Seat Time Racing School cancellations or schedule changes.

We try not to cancel any event date, but some circumstances are beyond our control and we will have to change a scheduled date.  If you have already been scheduled for an event and you receive an email/call from us, it is a last resort and we do apologize for the inconvenience.

How far in advanced should I register for a class?

You may make reservations prior to the event or walk-ups are welcome at any of our events.  If you would like to drive the race car, please remember that you will need to be at the event at least 30 minutes prior to the event time that is posted under the tracks and dates tab. All student drivers must attend the driver’s meeting if you would like to drive solo.  If still want to drive and cannot make the driver’s meeting, you will have an instructor in the race car with you for all of your laps.  The driver’s meeting is where you learn information about the race car, track details, flags, hand signals and passing rules that are very important prior to you taking the wheel.

Do I need to bring any safety equipment or is everything provided?

Helmet, neck restraint and fire suit are provided. We suggest you wear tennis shoes for driving or driving shoes. It’s also a good idea to wear something that will be comfortable under your driving suit such as shorts or sweats and a T-shirt or sweatshirt depending upon the weather. When bringing your own equipment, please have it with you at check in for approval from a Seat Time Racing School team member.

What are the age requirements?

Age requirements for STUDENT DRIVERS:

Must have a valid Operator (not restricted/not learners permit) Driver’s License and be 16 years of age or older and with a Parental Permission/Minor Permission Waiver signed on site/track date if younger than 18 years of age.

Student Drivers below 18 years of age will have an Instructor in the car with them at all times.

Age requirements for RIDE ALONGS:

14 years of age or older and with a Parental Permission/Minor Permission Waiver signed on site/track date if younger than 18 years of age. 14-15 years of age will go half speed during their Ride Along.

Age requirements for RACE DAY RIDES:

All participants must be 16 years of age of older with a Parental Permission/Minor Permission Waiver signed on site/track date if younger than 18 years of age.

All Riders/Drivers will sign the track/race school Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement.


Can you drive a manual transmission

We are willing to teach you this technique – so do not worry.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, you can purchase a “Speeding Ticket” gift certificate. The date and the track can be left open for the recipient to decide.

Can I bring a guest to the track with me?

You may bring as many people with you as you would like. We love to see the excitement of the whole family. Also, it is a good way for family/friends to take a Hot Lap Ride Along while they are at the track. You can purchase Hot Laps at the track or on our packages page.

What can guests do while we are at the track?

Guests can go almost everywhere the student drivers go. They can sit in the classroom with the student but are not allowed on Pit Road. Guests are allowed in the Pits, which is the area behind the Pit Road wall. Please do not sit or stand on Pit Road wall,  it is very dangerous.  Your safety is our main concern.

What should I bring with me to the track?

Dress comfortable for your event – check the weather (dress appropriately), wear tennis shoes or driving shoes (closed toe shoes), wear clothes that will be comfortable while in the fire suit and you can easily move in. Do not forget your sunglasses, sunscreens, coolers (NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR GLASS), cameras(you may take photos), umbrellas, hats, etc.  Please bring your Driver’s License.

Can I take pictures while at the track?

Yes, please feel free to bring your cameras and video cameras. We do ask that for your safety that you do not stand on Pit Road wall or go onto Pit Road while take pictures or videos. Just let us know that you would like a closer photo and one of our team members will escort you onto the track. 

Can I upgrade my course or purchase more laps at the track?

You may upgrade your package or add extra laps while at the event. There are always great specials track side.

Is there a penalty for canceling a date and a refund policy?

You may reschedule your date at anytime.  We understand that events may occur that are beyond your control. Please just give us a call or email to let us know that you need to reschedule.

All Hot Laps, Driving Programs and Speeding Tickets are

non-refundable and expire one year from the date of purchase

(unless otherwise noted at time of purchase).

No shows are subject to a 100% forfeiture of all monies paid.

Do you offer group rates?

We offer discounted rates for 5 or more students. If you are interested in an exclusive Corporate event,  there are many ways that you can use our programs as promotional events for your company.
